Weekly Highlight: Supporting Academic Excellence

The Boys & Girls Club main focus is to give every child the opportunity to succeed in every area of their life, especially academics.  We strive to help our children and families by offering homework tutorials, or what we call “Power Hour” at both of our sites everyday.

Power Hour allows each child the opportunity to finish homework and/or receive tutorials plus read for twenty minutes as recommended by the school district.   Parents are grateful their children’s homework is already completed by the time they pick them up and they have family time in the evenings again.  The additional homework time and tutorials has improved our Club member’s daily grades, test scores and grade promotion rate.
